Craftivism comes to Bath for International Women’s Day!

Craftivism in Bath! An Oxfam Get Together

Wednesday 29th February, 7.30pm

Crystal Palace Pub, Abbey Churchyard, Bath, BA1

At the last Oxfam Bath meeting, we decided to have an extra February meeting in order to make some ‘props’ for the International Women’s Day event we’re helping with. I’m pleased to announce we’ll do this on Wednesday 29th February!

We’ll be getting together to craft some flowers to hand out at the event, which will be accopmanied with seeds & a label giving a fact about poverty and how it hits women the hardest, particularly women farmers across the world. I’ve found a great, simple design http://idreamoffrance.wordpress.com/2010/01/31/make-your-own-fabric-sunflowers/, but we need yellow fabric and buttons!! So, if you can make it on February 29th, and can bring some yellow cloth (or cloth will yellow flecks) and some buttons that woudl be great. I can supply some stock, but any additional will be welcome. I’ll also provide glue / needles / thread – all I need is your fabric and you! If you can’t come but have yellow fabric, do let me know and I’ll find a way to collect it from you……

In addition, I’m on the lookout for someone willing to donate seeds (packed into little envelopes) & to create labels we can attach to the seeds/flowers…. and takers?!

If you have any questions / queries, please do email me. And if you want practise making some flowers before Weds 29th and bring them along that would be great!

Look forward to seeing you on the 29th…….
